32nd Madras Native Infantry Officers’ Mess Soup Plate. A very rare and magnificent example of rococo outline, (26.5 cms), decorated overall with polychrome designs of floral and foliage swags and panels, in the centre in mauve St. Edward’s crown over a circular strap ‘Ava’ enclosing ‘XXXII’. The reverse marked ‘Davenport’ and an anchor (the pre-1830 depiction), c. 1826 - 30, the foot rim with firing faults otherwise extremely fine condition £350-450
