The Prince of Wales’s Own (West Yorkshire Regiment) 3rd Militia Battalion Officers’ Mess Compote. A very fine and rare example the upper section 23.3 cms of rococo outline, the foot 14.2 cms. Both the bowl and the foot have rim decoration in gold and turquoise, the foot with polychrome decoration of regimental insignia featuring a circle with the unit title, the Prince of Wales’s crest and motto, the White Horse of Hanover with motto above ‘Nec Aspera Terrent’. The reverse marked with a crowned globe ‘Mintons’ over a scroll ‘T. Goode & Co., London’, the foot also impressed ‘Mintons’, c. 1883 - 1908, excellent condition £250-350
