‘On the 24th August, 1905, C. W. Curtis, while bathing in the sea at Skegness, was swept away by the strong outward current. W. S. Lewitt, at great risk, swam out but could not bring him in, and both were picked up by a boat shortly after.’ (ref. R.H.S. Case no. 34,284).
