Private William Ernest Palfrey, 1/2nd Battalion Monmouthshire Regiment entered the France/Flanders theatre of war on 7 November 1914. Awarded the 1914 Star. He was discharged on 15 April 1916 due to wounds and awarded the Silver War Badge.
