John Wilson was born in Ballyburley, King’s County. He attested for the 64th Foot at Limerick on 3 April 1841. He was ranked as a Drummer, October 1842-November 1857. With the regiment he served over 12 years in India, attaining the rank of Sergeant in November 1860. With copied service papers and roll extract.
