Three: Sergeant W. Cantlin, 62nd Regiment

Crimea 1854-56, 1 clasp, Sebastopol, contemporary engraved naming but all except surname very faint through contact wear; Army L.S. & G.C., V.R., small letter reverse (1751 Serjt., 62nd Foot); Turkish Crimea, Sardinian issue, together with a ‘62’ tunic button in excavated condition, the first fine, otherwise very fine (4) £120-140

After service in the Crimea, Cantlin’s regiment was sent to Canada, where he served until September 1864, when he transferred to the Royal Canadian Rifles. He was discharged in January 1866, intending to reside at Halifax, Nova Scotia. Sold with copy service papers.
