The Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem Certificate for Distinguished Services, certificate mounted in a wooden frame, 400 x 268mm., reads, ‘... Extract from the Minutes of a Meeting of the Chapter-General held on the 20th of May, 1953, at St. John’s Gate, Clerkenwell, London. Resolved that the Special Thanks of His Royal Highness The Grand Prior and the Chapter-General be hereby conveyed to Leslie Arthur Harris, Div. Supt. Warlingham Division, No. 1 (Prince of Wales’s) Dist. The St. John Ambulance Brigade, for distinguished services rendered on the occasion of the East Coast Flood Disaster in January and February 1953. Dated this twentieth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and fifty-three’; together with an Order of St. John, Serving Brother breast badge, silver and enamel, enamel damage; St. John Service Medal, silver base metal, unnamed, with a (loose) silver clasp, medals nearly very fine and better; certificate in good condition (3) £200-300
