Medals Related to Alcohol and Drinking, France, Inauguration of the Stade de la ‘Suze’, 1935, a bronze medal, unsigned, bust of Fernand Moureaux left, reverse plan of the stadium, 60mm. Obverse very fine, reverse better, rare (£40-60)

La Suze, the apéritif invented in 1889 by the Parisian distiller Fernand Moureaux, now subsumed within the Pernod organisation. Moureaux was still the company’s President when the stadium was inaugurated in March 1935
