George IV (1820-1830), Visit of Princess Victoria and the Duchess of Kent to the Soho Mint, Birmingham, 1830, a pair of bronzed-copper medals after C.H. Küchler, legends in six lines, VICTORIA MAGNÆ SPES ALTERA BRITANNIÆ SOHO 6 AUG 1830, and VICTORIA MARIA LOUISA FELIX TU QUOQUE MATER! SOHO 6 AUG 1830, reverses Britannia seated on a rock, from the die of a Proof Penny, 1806 [BMC KP 32], edges plain, both 34mm (BHM 1435-6; E 1222; cf. BMC pp.368-9) [2]. A few light toning spots on reverse of first, otherwise brilliant and practically as struck, extremely rare as a pair; in original red felt-lined oblong case (£250-350)

Ex Farouk. These pieces confirm that coins struck from the BMC KP 32 die-pairing were late Soho products
