British, Victories of the Earl of Athlone, 1702, a bronze medal by M. Smeltzing, armoured and draped bust right, reverse obelisk decorated with 12 shields bearing the names of the victories, four captives chained to base, 48mm (MI 242/27; E 397). Flan a trifle crimped and two minor edge knocks below bust, otherwise very fine and very rare in this metal (£60-80)
