Provenance: DNW Auction 79, 24 and 30 September 2008, lot 3872.

The weight, at 7.5 grains, makes this unequivocally a heavy coinage issue. Exactly what the overstruck or cancelled marks are by the neck is open to interpretation. Nothing like them is mentioned by either Blunt and Whitton or Withers and no comparable examples were included in the Buck or Delmé-Radcliffe collections
