1914-15 Star (Dvr., S.A.S.C.-M.T.); British War and bi-lingual Victory Medals (Dvr., S.A.S.C.) with Silver War Badge (SA3144), ‘M.T.C.’ shoulder title, and silver shilling identity disc; together with his brother’s bi-lingual Victory Medal (Pte. Private Gert Brewis died on 23 October 1918 and is buried in Brookwood Military Cemetery, Surrey. He was the son of Thomas and Elizabeth Brewis, of Oudtshoorn, South Africa.
