Military General Service 1793-1814, 1 clasp, Toulouse (J. Lomas, Serjeant, 15th Hussars) some light scuffing, otherwise nearly extremely fine £350-400

John Lomas was born in the Parish of St Mary, Nottingham, and enlisted for the 15th Hussars at the age of fifteen, on 17 June 1812. He served in France from December 1813 and was present at the battle of Toulouse in April 1814. Shortly afterwards he had an accident which necessitated the amputation of one of his legs and he was consequently discharged to pension on 3 March 1815. He was still living in November 1853 when he was refused an increase in his pension. Sold with copy discharge papers which make no mention of his being a Sergeant.
