Trinidad, Centenary of the Conquest of Trinidad, 1897, a gold medal, unsigned, uniformed bust of Sir Ralph Abercromby three-quarters left, rev. ships at anchor in the mole of Port of Spain, 39mm, 38.92g (BHM 3623; E 1809b). Edge bruised and marked (perhaps once mounted), knock to nose, otherwise very fine £900-1,200

Brown (BHM) states the medal was probably struck in Trinidad, however the cataloguer believes it to be a Spink production. It was originally issued with a signed certificate from the Centenary Celebration Committee. The late owner’s ticket states ‘about 5 known’
