Kings of Mercia, Coenwulf (796-821), Penny, Canterbury, Cross Crosslet type, Dealla, 0.94 gms (N 356). A large fragment, very rare, only thirteen others recorded (£50-60)

BLS (1963) lists three coins of Cn 54, another four of Cn 55 (same coin except M on reverse is rounded rather than angular), and five of Cn 53 (same coins except without the three crosses intercepting the legend on reverse outer circle); EMC lists an additional specimen of Cn 53. Found at Papworth, Cambridgeshire, 1990’s.
