BRITISH COINS Early Anglo-Saxon Period, AR Sceatta, Three Crosses and Dragon. Series N type 41b, c. 715-725, London (?), two tall front-facing figures, holding long cross pommée at either side, with a small cross pommée between, reverses dragon left, with open-jawed head turned back and claw-footed legs folded under, decorated with beaded lines, 0.91 gms (M 368; S 810; EMC 1999, 0012). Some of fabric flaked away on reverse, otherwise fine to very fine (£50-60)
The inside arms of the two figures are usually elongated to touch the ground; on this coin, although something extends to the ground, the hands can be clearly seen at the usual length. Found Cambridgeshire, 1998.
