Arthur George Cranston was born at Newhaven, Sussex, on 3 October 1879, and joined the Royal Navy as a Boy 2nd Class aboard H.M.S.
St Vincent on 11 March 1895. He served aboard Orlando from February 1899 to July 1902, being promoted to Able Seaman in November 1899. He was discharged to shore in May 1910 and joined the Royal Fleet Reserve at Portsmouth until invalided out with heart disease on 7 April 1915. Sold with copied record of service.
