Three: Captain W. R. Turner, 3rd Regiment

Crimea 1854-56, 1 clasp, Sebastopol (Captn. W. R. Turner, 3rd Regt.) contemporary engraved naming; China 1857-60, 1 clasp, Taku Forts 1860 (Capt., W. R. Turner, 1st Bn. 3rd Regt.) officially impressed naming; Turkish Crimea 1855, Sardinian issue, unnamed, fitted with a ‘British Crimea’ style suspension; together with two miniature dress medals: Crimea 1854-56, no clasp; Turkish Crimea 1855, Sardinian issue, these fitted with silver brooch bars, full-size medals with contact marks and some edge bruising, nearly very fine and better (5), £550-600

William Ross Turner was commissioned an Ensign by purchase in the 3rd (East Kent) Regiment on 23 November 1852. He was promoted to Lieutenant in June 1854 and to Captain by purchase in May 1857.
