Montserrat, Quarter-Dollar, a Spanish Pistareen of Charles III, 1788, Madrid, obverse centrally countermarked with a couped cross from the same punch as Pridmore Lot 268 and Gordon Lots 52-53, (wt 87.7grains, 5.69gms (as Pridmore Lot 269). Coin fine, countermark very fine but right edge not struck up, very rare, the host correctly a Spanish-American 2-Reales, i.e. a Quarter-Dollar (as against Fifth Dollar) (£250-300)
