M.S.M. London Gazette 3 June 1919. ‘19430 F/Clk. Jesse Bicknell (Coventry) (EGYPT).’

M.I.D.
London Gazette 22 January 1919 (Allenby, C-in-C. Egyptian Expeditionary Force) ‘... for their services during the period from 16th March, 1918, to 18th September, 1918.’

Jesse Bicknell enlisted into the R.F.C. as an Air Mechanic 2nd Class on 25 January 1916. He served in Egypt, 18 May 1916-25 April 1919. Promoted to Sergeant in November 1917, he was transferred to the R.A.F. as a Flight Clerk in April 1918. Awarded the M.I.D. and M.S.M. for his service in the Egypt theatre of war; he was transferred to the R.A.F. Reserve on 3 July 1919. With original forwarding slip for the Great War pair of medals, addressed to ‘Mr J. Bicknell, Newlands Farm, Keresley, Coventry.’ Also with copied service papers, m.i.c. and gazette extracts.
