M.S.M. London Gazette 30 January 1919. ‘... in recognition of valuable services rendered with British Forces in Salonika.’ ‘802 Pte. (A./Coy. Q.M.I.), Army Gymnastic Staff (Birmingham).’ amended London Gazette 14 May 1919. ‘802 Pte. (A./Coy. S.M. Instr., Army Gymnastic Staff.’

Just four ‘Salonika’ M.S.M’s. awarded to the Army Gymnastic Staff.

William Arthur Everitt, a Schoolmaster, from Birmingham, attested for the Army Gymnastic Staff on 13 November 1915, aged 33 years. Posted to Salonika in October 1917, his service papers record that he was awarded the M.S.M. in January 1919 ‘for gallantry & devotion to duty’. Transferred to Class ‘Z’ Reserve in March 1919.
