A Great War ‘Home Service’ M.S.M. pair awarded to Colour Serjeant T. Lavin, 3rd Battalion Scottish Rifles

Army Meritorious Service Medal, G.V.R., 1st issue (62863 C. Sjt., 3/Sco. Rif.); Army L.S. & G.C., E.VII.R. (1052 C. Sgt., Scot. Rif.) mounted for display, nearly extremely fine (2) £160-200

M.S.M. London Gazette 22 February 1919. ‘... in recognition of valuable services rendered in connection with the war.’ ‘62863 Clr. Sjt., 3rd Bn. Scottish Rifles (Curragh Camp).’

Timothy Lavin enlisted into the Army on 13 March 1884. As an Acting Company Sergeant-Major with the 6th Battalion Scottish Rifles (Cameronians), he was discharged due sickness on 4 January 1915. He was not awarded any war medals but was awarded the Silver War Badge. With copied gazette extracts, m.i.c. for the M.S.M. and W.W.1 medals and Silver War Badge roll extract.
