M.S.M. London Gazette 17 June 1918. ‘... in recognition of valuable services rendered with the Forces in France during the present war.’ ‘10128 Sjt. (A./Coy. Q.M./Sjt.), Sco. Rif. (Richmond, Surrey).’

Serjeant Alfred Barnes, 2nd Battalion Scottish Rifles (Cameronians), entered the France/Flanders theatre of war on 5 November 1914. Entitled to the 1914 Star with clasp, British War and Victory Medals. With copied gazette extracts and m.i.c for M.S.M and W.W.1 medals.
