M.S.M. London Gazette 30 January 1920. ‘... in recognition of devotion to duty and valuable services rendered whilst prisoners of war or interned, ...’ ‘21210 Pte., 2nd Bn. Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire Regiment (Peckham).’

Just two ‘P.O.W.’ M.S.M’s. awarded to the Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire Regiment.

Private Henry John Turner, 2nd Battalion Bedfordshire Regiment, entered the France/Flanders theatre of war on 7 December 1915. He later became a prisoner-of-war, for which service he was subsequently awarded the M.S.M. After the war he was transferred to the Class ‘Z’ Reserve.
