Sykes, W., Hull Tradesmen’s Tokens Issued in the 17th, 18th and 19th Centuries. 1902. Small quarto, limp blue cloth. Manuscript, 69pp written on rectos + 2 on versos, 6 plates, copy of signed photograph of J.K. Pickard, illustrations. The plates are line-drawings, rubbings, etc, of tokens mostly extracted from published works. Sykes comments that in the Richardson volume, Richardson states he had met Pickard who had given him the substance of the detail about Pickard’s Wellington tokens in this volume. Sykes copied the information into this volume, which in turn was used by Davis to help the compilation of his standard work. Unique. £150-200
