M.B.E. London Gazette 15 June 1945: ‘Constance Agnes, Lady Cripps, County Vice-President, St John Ambulance Organisation, Gloucester.’
Lady Cripps, wife of Major Sir Frederick Cripps, was connected with the St John Ambulance Brigade for many years, both in Cirencester and in Cheltenham. She was awarded the M.B.E. in 1945 after serving throughout the war at the Down Ampney Red Cross Hospital where injured servicemen were flown home from abroad. She was also connected with the W.V.S. and was an active member of the Cirencester Hospital Management Committee. She died on 18 February 1958.
