Ex Pell Collection 1912.

John Finn was born in the Parish of Clonmel, Co. Tipperary, in 1792, and enlisted into the 44th Regiment on 11 September 1810. He served in the Peninsula in Captain Jessop’s Company and was present at the siege of Badajoz and the battle of Salamanca. He was wounded in the right arm at Bergen op Zoom, on 8 March 1814, whilst serving in Captain Powers’ Company. Powers himself was severely wounded and died as a prisoner of war. John Finn was discharged at Antwerp on 12 July 1814, unfit for further service due to his wounds. Sold with copy discharge papers.
