The 44th East Essex Regiment, an officer’s or Senior NCO’s copper gilt shako plate, 1812-16 pattern, die-stamped and displaying the ‘GR’ cypher over ‘44’, two correct loop fasteners to the reverse, although of the right general weight and structure and the gilt seemingly period, it is possibly a copy c1890, very good condition £200-300
