Mr Eardley Norton, For Collection of Well Grown Ferns, 1903), 48mm (Pudd. 948.12.2). Spot below the feet of Ceres, otherwise extremely fine; in original fitted case by P. Eardley Norton, Dunmore House, Madras and from 1889 at Theatre road, Calcutta, was a lawyer at the Madras Bar who had a stellar career and was an enthusiastic supporter of the Indian National Congress. Opposed to the policies and beliefs of Lord Dufferin, he was dubbed by his countrymen as a veiled seditionist for his participation in the Congress
