M.C. London Gazette 18 February 1915. This Gazette contained the very first awards of the Military Cross, including Barwick and a small number of other Warrant Officers. No citations were published but the awards were clearly for good work during 1914. Barwick also served in the Boer War and is entitled to the Q.S.A. with clasps for Cape Colony, Orange Free State and S.A. 1902.
