Henry James Fraser was born in Newington, London, on 6 July 1895. He enlisted into the Royal Marines Artillery at London on 3 February 1913. In February 1914 he was ranked as a Gunner. He served on the battleship St. Vincent, April 1914-July 1916, being present on the ship at the battle of Jutland, 21 May 1916. Later in the war he served on the battlecruiser Renown, September 1917-June 1919. Fraser continued to serve into the 1930’s, seeing service on the capital ships, Iron Duke, Renown, and Royal Sovereign. With copied service paper. Note: service number on paper listed as ‘213328’.
