Punniar Star 1843 (Private Jonathan Boddy, H.M. 3rd Regt.) fitted with original hook suspension, small hole drilled through bottom of hook, otherwise nearly extremely fine and a scarce casualty £280-320

Jonathan Boddy was born in the parish of Whitby, Yorkshire, and was attested for the 3rd Foot at Hollingwood on 27 July 1826, aged 20 years and a weaver by trade. He was discharged at Dublin on 10 May 1847, his discharge papers noting that he ‘has received a Bronze Star for the Battle of Punniar, 29th December 1843, where he was slightly wounded.’
