Charles Edwards was born near Bristol. A Farmer by occupation, he attested for the Imperial Yeomanry at Cheltenham on 26 January 1901, aged 20 years, 11 months. Posted to the 48th Company, 7th Battalion (North Somerset) Imperial Yeomanry, he served in South Africa, 11 February 1901-22 June 1902. With copied service papers.
