Chigariro, was born in November 1932 and a member of the Mkorekore Tribe from the district of Sipolilo, attended school at St. Phillips. Joining the British South Africa Police in November 1955, he served in the District Branch at Victoria, Goromonzi and Mashonaland, and the Police Stations at Sinoia and Norton. Awarded the Rhodesia General Service Medal in December 1969 and the Police L.S. & G.C. Medal in May 1976, he retired on a pension with an ‘Exemplary’ conduct assessment in August 1977 (Force Orders 534/77 refer); also entitled to the St. John’s Service Medal (Force Orders 193/56 refer).
