Howard Stuteley, who was from Ward End, Birmingham, first entered the French theatre of war in mid-August 1914, as a Driver in 42nd Brigade, R.F.A. He was subsequently discharged in July 1916, and awarded the Silver War Badge (his MIC entry refers).
