Raymond John Arthur was born in and enlisted at Guernsey. Serving in the 1st Battalion Royal Guernsey Light Infantry, he was killed in action, on 1 December 1917, aged 29 years. He was buried in the Point-du-Jour Military Cemetery, Athies, Pas de Calais, France. He was the son of Mr J. P. and Mrs E. Arthur of 3 St. James Place, St. Jacques, St. Peter Port, Guernsey, Channel Islands.
