Three: 2nd Lieutenant S. Major, East Kent Regiment, late Royal Fusiliers, who was killed in action in March 1917

1914-15 Star (PS-1768 Sjt. S. Major, R. Fus.); British War and Victory Medals (2 Lieut. S. Major), together with small portrait photograph and a Buffs cap badge, with gold safety pin and chain, presumably for wear by his widow, good very fine (4) £250-300

Stanley Major first entered the French theatre of war as a Sergeant in the 18th Battalion, Royal Fusiliers, in mid-November 1915. Subsequently commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the 3rd Battalion, East Kent Regiment, in August 1916, he was killed in action on 3 March 1917, while attached to the 1st Battalion. He left a widow, resident in Cape Province, South Africa, and is buried in Maroc British Cemetery, Grenay, France.
