Four: Captain F. Farmer, Home Guard, late London Regiment

1914-15 Star (3129 Pte. F. Farmer, 6-Lond. R.); British War and Victory Medals (3129 Pte. F. Farmer, 6-Lond. R.); Defence Medal 1939-45, this last with original addressed card forwarding box, mounted as worn, together with Silver War Badge, the reverse officially numbered ‘97278’, 6th City of London Regiment cap badge, enamelled Home Guard lapel badge and two khaki Home Guard shoulder flashes, contact marks, otherwise generally very fine (9) £120-150

Frederick Farmer first entered the French theatre of war as a Private in the 6th Battalion, London Regiment in mid-March 1915, but, as verified by his MIC entry, was discharged in August 1916 and awarded the Silver War Badge. An early recruit for the Home Guard in the 1939-45 War, he was appointed a Lieutenant in the 11th Kent (Maidstone) Battalion in February 1941 and attained the rank of Captain prior to the end of hostilities.
