Egypt and Sudan 1882-89, dated reverse, 2 clasps, Tel-El-Kebir, The Nile 1884-85 (2262 Drumr. A. King, 1/Cam’n. Highrs.) edge bruising, pitting, nearly very fine £200-250

Angus King was born in Rawapindi. He enlisted into the Cameron Highlanders at Glasgow on 6 April 1879, aged 15 years. King served as a Drummer and was awarded the Egypt Medal with two clasps and Khedive’s Star for service in Egypt and the Sudan. He was transferred to the Army Reserve in May 1891 and was discharged in May 1895. Employed as a Gateman, then aged 35 years, 9 months, King then attested for service with the Royal Reserve Regiment at Glasgow on 18 March 1900. With copied service papers re. transfer to the Army Reserve and enlistment into the Reserve Regiment.
