Army of India 1799-1826, 1 clasp, Ava (Drummer C. Schultz, 54th Foot) short hyphen reverse, officially impressed naming, edge bruising, slight contact marks, very fine £800-1000

Charles Schultz was born in Newport, Isle of Wight. A Labourer by occupation, he attested for the 54th Regiment at London on 9 March 1818, aged 14 years. With them, he served as a Drummer, 1818-1841, serving overseas in the Cape Province for nearly 3 years and in India for over 18 years. He was discharged at Belfast on 31 October 1842 being incapable of further military service due to chronic catarrh, rheumatism and general debility. Sold with copied service papers.
