Harold George Alfred Orford died on active service sometime between 23 May and 1 June 1940, while serving in the 2nd Battalion, Northamptonshire Regiment. The son of Major Harold Orford, late R.A.O.C., and Elizabeth Orford of Smeeth, Kent, he was 21 years of age and is buried in the Maroeuil Communal Cemetery, Pas de Calais, France.
