Ronald William Henfrey was killed in action on 29 January 1942, while serving in the minesweeper (ex-whaler) H.M.S. Sotra, on which date she was torpedoed and sunk by the U-431, commanded by Wilhelm Dommes, a holder of the Knight’s Cross, off Bardia. He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Lowestoft Memorial; the above described forwarding box is addressed to his re-married widow, ‘Mrs. Isabel F. H.
