Fred Losper was born in Coleberg, Cape Province. A Labourer by occupation, he attested for the Cape Corps at Woltemade on 19 September 1916, aged 22 years. He entered German East Africa on 5 December 1916. He was admitted to hospital on 6 July 1917 and died of nephritis on 8 July 1917. His name is commemorated in the Dar-es-Salaam War Cemetery. With copied service papers.
