Lance-Sergeant John Stechyshyn, 14th Battalion Queen’s Own Cameron Highlanders of Canada, died on 14 August 1944, aged 26 years. He was buried in the Bretteville-sur-Laize Canadian War Cemetery, south of Caen, France. He was the son of John and Katherine Stechyshyn and husband of Margaret Graham Stechyshyn of Port Hope, Ontario.
