Robert Henderson Dickson was born in Elderslie, Paisley, lived in Greenock, and enlisted at Whiteinch, Glasgow. Serving as an Acting Corporal in the 1st Battalion Royal Scots Fusiliers, he died in Flanders on 16 June 1915, aged 31 years. Having no known grave, his name is commemorated on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial, Belgium. He was the son of Robert H. and Hannah Dickson of 8 Brougham Street, Greenock.
