James Main was the son of S. and Janet Craig Main of 12 North Croft Street, Paisley. Serving as a Corporal in ‘D’ Company, 1st Royal Marine Battalion, Royal Naval Division, R.M.L.I., he was killed in action at Passchendaele on 26 October 1917. Having no known grave, his name is commemorated on the Tyne Cot Memorial. With some copied research.
