The Crimean War group of three to Lieutenant W. M. C. Acton, 77th Foot, later Recruiting Officer at Inveness

Crimea 1854-56, 3 clasps, Alma, Inkermann, Sebastopol (Lieut. W. M. C. Acton, 77th Foot) contemporary engraved naming, fitted with Hunt & Roskell silver ribbon buckle; Turkish Crimea 1855, Sardinian issue, contemporary tailor’s pattern by ‘J.B.’, fitted with Hunt & Roskell silver ribbon buckle; Order of the Medjidie, 5th class breast badge, silver, gold and enamels, fitted with Hunt & Roskell silver ribbon buckle, with companion miniature medals, each fitted with Hunt & Roskell silver ribbon buckle, light pitting, otherwise good very fine (6) £400-500

William Molesworth Cole Acton was appointed Ensign in the 77th Foot on 17 September 1850; Lieutenant, 2 April 1852; Captain, 29 December 1854; Half-Pay, 5 October 1858. Captain Acton served with the 77th Regiment in the Eastern campaign of 1854, and up to 9th February 1855, including the battles of Alma and Inkermann and siege of Sebastopol (Medal with three Clasps, 5th Class of the Medjidie, and Turkish Medal).
