Private Claude Cecil Clerke, New Zealand Infantry, attached H.Q. 4th N.Z. Infantry Brigade, was killed in action in the Western Desert on 5 July 1942, aged 32 years. He was buried in the El Alamein War Cemetery. He was the son of George Frederick and Gussie Levena Clerke of Rewa, Wellington.

Corporal Mervyn Henry Cotterell, New Zealand Infantry, was killed/died on 17 February 1944, aged 27 years. He was buried in the Bourail New Zealand War Cemetery, New Caledonia. He was the son of Charles Richard Cotterell and of Esther Lillian Cotterell of Moerewa, Auckland. With a quantity of copied research.
