John Richard Stone was born on 27 March 1921. He enlisted into the Royal Artillery at Woolwich on 7 January 1936. With the Royal Artillery he served in the Middle East, October-December 1940; Sudan, December 1940-June 1942 and Italy, June 1942-April 1945. Stone transferred to the R.E.M.E. in October 1951, and served in Korea, July 1953-November 1954; Singapore, November 1954-April 1955, and Malaya, May 1955-July 1956. He was discharged as a Warrant Officer Class 1 in the R.E.M.E. on 1 December 1961. Sold with recipient’s Certificate of Service; Soldier’s Record and Pay Book; R.E.M.E. Association Booklet, and associated papers.
