Robert Nicholls Harington was first commissioned as Ensign in the 104th Foot on 18 December 1866. He transferred to the Bengal Staff Corps as Lieutenant and Quartermaster in the 29th Bengal Native Infantry in June 1869. Lieutenant Harington died sometime in 1878, his death being recorded in Hart’s Army List for 1879.
